Air to Water Heat Pump - HYDRO SOLAR Brand
Our air to water heat pump options offer energy-efficient solutions for heating and cooling. They transfer heat energy between outdoor and indoor spaces, providing a reliable method to manage temperatures year-round. Air to water heat pumps don’t just heat or cool the air like traditional air to air heat pumps. Instead, it uses heat to regulate the temperature of water or a water-glycol mixture, which can then be circulated throughout your home or business for various applications, including radiant heating and domestic hot water production.

Air to Water Heat Pumps: Smart Energy Solutions for Every Season
Our air to water heat pump pulls heat from outdoor air and transfers it to a water or water-glycol mixture to warm your building in winter. This heated water can be circulated through hydronic systems for in-floor heating, low-temperature radiators, or for producing hot water. In the summer, the system works in reverse, removing heat from your indoor space and transferring it outside to cool your building.
Our air source heat pumps offer a versatile, environmentally friendly solution, as they deliver consistent performance without the greenhouse gas emissions associated with oil or gas boiler installations.
Air to Water Heat Pump Configurations: Monoblock vs. Split
We offer two distinct configurations of our air to water heat pump: Monoblock and Split. Both are designed for efficient heating but serve different installation needs.
Monoblock Configuration
Our Monoblock configuration combines all components into one outdoor unit. This single-unit design simplifies installation, making it an ideal choice for users who prefer a more straightforward setup.
Split Configuration
In our Split configuration, the compressor and condenser are housed in the outdoor unit, while the refrigerant to water heat exchanger is installed indoors. The two units are connected by refrigerant lines, which circulate a fluid that won’t freeze even in extreme cold.
Both air source heat pump system configurations handle a broad range of operating temperatures and provide reliable performance year-round. More information about each configuration is shown in the below comparison table:
Environmentally Friendly Refrigerants
At Hydro Solar, we prioritize minimizing the environmental impact of our products, and our air source heat pumps are no exception.
Our second-generation heat pumps use R410a refrigerant, however, with our third-generation models, we have introduced R32 refrigerant, which has a lower global warming potential and operates in a wide temperature range, from -30°C to +45°C. By using R32, we lower the environmental footprint of our cold climate heat pumps without compromising performance.
Sustainable Comfort with Hydro Solar
At Hydro Solar, we are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of homes and businesses by offering sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
