A. General:

  • Unit is factory assembled and tested air-cooled liquid chiller.
  • Unit is assembled on heavy gauge steel mounting/lifting rails.
  • Contained within the unit cabinet shall be all factory wiring, piping, controls, refrigerant charge (R410a), POE oil and special accessories required prior to start up.
  • Brass body strainer with 20 mesh screen and blow down is supplied in cabinet as a field installable accessory.

B. Unit Cabinet:

  • Composed of heavy gauge galvanized steel casing with a baked polyester powder.
  • Capable of withstanding 500-hour salt spray test in accordance with the ASTM (USA) standard.

C. Condenser Fan:

  • Five blade glass reinforced polypropylene (PPG) petals mounted on a cast aluminum hub construction and shall be dynamically balanced and corrosion resistant.
  • Vertical discharged air.
  • Motors and blades shall be protected by coated steel wire safety guards.

D. Fan Motors:

  • Condenser fan motor is variable speed, brushless DC control.
  • Totally enclosed Air Over (TEAO), use class B insulation, and permanently lubricated ball and/or sleeve bearings.
  • Fan motors are internally overload protected with automatic reset.

E. Compressors:

  • Unit contains one Emerson/Copeland variable speed DC scroll compressor.
  • Direct current DC, 900-7,200 RPM (15-120 HZ).
  • Compressor motor is suction gas cooled.
  • External motor protection.
  • Externally protected by low and high pressure cutout devices and discharge temperature sensing thermistor.
  • Individual vibration isolators.
  • Compressor compartment is internally insulated using noise reducing elastomeric foam insulation.

F. Pump:

  • Unit shall not be capable of incorporating a field installed chilled liquid solution pump internally (Space restricted).
  • Unit has chilled liquid solution piping to the exterior of the cabinet.

G. Evaporator (Cooling):

  • Evaporator has one refrigerant circuit and one liquid solution circuit.
  • Rated for a refrigerant side working pressure of 550 psig and a maximum water side working pressure of 150 psig.
  • Single pass, ANSI type 316 stainless steel, brazed plate construction with Copper/Nickel brazing material.

H. Condenser (Heating):

  • Condenser has one refrigerant circuit and one liquid solution circuit.
  • Rated for a refrigerant side working pressure of 550 psig and a maximum water side working pressure of 150 psig.
  • Single pass, ANSI type 316 stainless steel, brazed plate construction with Copper/Nickel brazing material.

I. Evaporator/Condenser (Cooling/Heating):

  • Condenser coil shall be air-cooled with integral sub-cooler.
  • Constructed of rifled copper tubing mechanically bonded to aluminum fins.
  • Cleaned and dehydrated.
  • Factory leak tested to 650 psig.

I. Refrigerant Circuits:

  • Each circuit shall contain a liquid strainer, electronic expansion valve, solenoid valve, check valve, refrigerant charge of R410a and POE compressor oil.

Controls and Safeties

Controls

  • Chiller is completely factory wired and tested.
  • Temperature control is based on leaving liquid solution temperature or storage tank. Temperature accuracy shall be + - 1°F.
  • control is variable speed control.
  • Controls includes the following components: 24vac transformer to serve all controllers relays and control components, Microprocessor based liquid solution temperature controller, Leaving water temperature thermistor, Pump bypass timer, Compressor recycle timer, Optional low pressure bypass timer for low ambient operation, Optional fan cycling control for low ambient operation, Chilled liquid solution flow switch.
  • All functions are addressable, logic, code and algorithm controlled.
  • Suppliedwith Ethernet port for communication and monitoring.
  • Compatible with Building Automation System (BAS) using BACnet protocol.

Safeties

Unit is equipped with tall necessary components in conjunction with control system to provide the following protection:

  • Low refrigerant pressure.
  • High refrigerant pressure.
  • Water side Cold & Hot Flow

Operating Characteristics:

Temperatures

  • Unit is capable of starting and running at outdoor temperatures from 0°F (-18°C) to 120°F (49°C).
  • Unit is capable of starting up, in Cooling Mode, with a maximum 80°F and ambient temperature not above 95°F.
  • Maximum sustained return fluid solution temperature to the evaporator shall not exceed 70°F in cooling mode.
  • Minimum 10% Propylene Glycol solution is always required in all applications.

Electrical Requirements

  • Primary electrical power supply shall enter the unit at a single location.
  • Electrical power supply shall be rated to withstand 90°C operating ambient temperature.
